Summary

A New York Times best selling, multi-arc, character-driven story with great battles and strong-willed females that will appeal to males and females alike。

In a world where monsters called Yoma prey on humans and live among them in disguise, humanity's only hope is a new breed of warrior known as Claymores。 Half human, half monster, these silver-eyed slayers possess supernatural strength but are condemned to fight their savage impulses or lose their humanity completely。

Claire and the orphan Raki travel to the town of Rabona, where a Yoma has been stalking the priests inside the cathedral。 The creature could be one of the guards, or even a priest, but this time Claire won't be able to sense its aura。 Does she stand a chance against the stealthy Yoma?

Muy bueno, me gusta mucho la protagonista pero siento que este volumen fue un poco predecible pero épico igual

Pretty good manga, will continue reading more of it to see how the characters and the story develop。

(Zero spoiler review)Alright, no messing about on this one。 Better than the first one, although not by any discernible margin。 Everything here has undergone a slight improvement。 The art, which in the first book had been very basic (although I had just been reading Berserk, which was never going to do other similar manga titles any favours)。 The story telling has improved, with a consistent narrative flowing throughout the five issue son offer here, though it still sticks like glue to premise of (Zero spoiler review)Alright, no messing about on this one。 Better than the first one, although not by any discernible margin。 Everything here has undergone a slight improvement。 The art, which in the first book had been very basic (although I had just been reading Berserk, which was never going to do other similar manga titles any favours)。 The story telling has improved, with a consistent narrative flowing throughout the five issue son offer here, though it still sticks like glue to premise of the first book。 Protagonist goes to a place, hunts down a demon, tries to kill said demon。 At least we get something resembling meaningful dialogue in between the fight scenes, which are still lacking in tension and atmosphere。 The book can be cheesy at times, although it seems that may just be a hall mark of manga in general, and I can either build a bridge or forever be disappointed that the Japanese don't quite seem to tell stories the way I would like them to。 Maybe I'm judging the entirety of manga to soon, although I had high hopes for this series。 Hopes that so far, are going unmet。 But hey, at least we are tracking in the right direction。 3。25/5OmniBen。 。。。more

I’m still interested in what’s going to happen, even though the “man who travels with a kid and eventually create a bond” is a cliche, I like that and “Claymore” managed to put a woman instead a man, which was a nice choice。 However this volume was flat and not as good as the first, though this wasn’t bad at all。

So much action!!!And then some slower patches between。。。and the odd part where you're like, "Now why you do that?" :P(My biggest was when they bound Clare's wounds with bandages going around the outside of her clothing?! Alrighty then。。。)How rude though they cut the manga right in the middle of the battle! Next volume for closure!(I think Clare looks so much better with her silver eyes, don't you?) That was actually a stunning improvement on all fronts。 Most of vol。 2 is one story as opposed to a few different ones, and we're finally getting something that seems like a more cohesive plot rather than a simple anthology。 The art improved, though villagers still don't look great, but important side characters looks a lot more distinct。 We see more and more of how Clare is a very subtly complex character upon inspection, with some intriguing morals (or lackthereof), and we also see just how li That was actually a stunning improvement on all fronts。 Most of vol。 2 is one story as opposed to a few different ones, and we're finally getting something that seems like a more cohesive plot rather than a simple anthology。 The art improved, though villagers still don't look great, but important side characters looks a lot more distinct。 We see more and more of how Clare is a very subtly complex character upon inspection, with some intriguing morals (or lackthereof), and we also see just how little she cares about the blatant prejudices she faces, while still having the humanity to care for Raki。Also, the twist in this volume is excellent。 I actually remembered it from when I originally read the volumes, and it just occasionally gives the tiniest of hint here and there。 Manga aren't normally good at that, but this one pulled it off。 。。。more

“Yoma treat all equally。 Those who have money and those who don’t。 Those with status and those without。 Whether they’re believers or nonbelievers。 Male or female。 Old or young。 It matters not。 As long as they have flesh。 They are all the same。”I like how Clare can be vulnerable。 I also like that the dynamics of the characters have progressed, thanks to the flashbacks。 We’re starting to go deeper now, character-wise and even world-building-wise。

This is when I started to care。World: The art is fantastic, there is a cold distance to it that makes what’s happening on the page all the more frightening。 The world building is solid, it’s not overly detailed like the last book, which had the job of introducing Claymores, the world and Yoma to the readers, this book just focuses on a small part, the church。 The smaller world scope is good cause it focuses on the characters instead。Story: Action packed like the last book and reads really quickl This is when I started to care。World: The art is fantastic, there is a cold distance to it that makes what’s happening on the page all the more frightening。 The world building is solid, it’s not overly detailed like the last book, which had the job of introducing Claymores, the world and Yoma to the readers, this book just focuses on a small part, the church。 The smaller world scope is good cause it focuses on the characters instead。Story: Action packed like the last book and reads really quickly。 This is the arc that really made me connect with Raki and Clare。 The small quiet moments and images of their looks at each other is wonderfully muted to express the depth of emotion that is at play here。 The story is well put together, a bit expected and safe but at the same time it allows for the character moments to shine and that is the core of this story here。Characters: Clare is well done, she’s still an enigma and how she’s written makes her interesting to readers and with Raki there as out point of view it’s works。 The emotions that these two have for each other is earned, it’s only less than 12 issues in and it’s already pretty strong and it’s because of the well done basic drive of these two characters and the art that drives those emotions into the readers head。 The new pieces here with the priests and the soldiers is well done if a bit cliched but they serve their purpose as this is still Clare and Raki’s story。A strong emotional book that makes readers care about the characters。Onward to the next book! 。。。more
